another blustery and wet day but a warm wave to you all.
It was a weekend of contrasts
- watching the dreadful news from Paris as new details emerge and people try to deal with what happened - while crocheting cute Christmas items and periodically switching channels to something light and frothy. A reminder in so many ways of how connected we all are.
- hearing the rain and dressing in wellie boots and waterproofs to go out
while making piles of sunglasses, shorts, t-shirts and sandals for a week in the sun. I always find it hard to imagine that the temperature will be so different that I’ll need different clothes and one cardigan has been added to the pile then removed then added again several times.
hope those of you in the UK have not been flooded – my local river was very high but stayed within its banks – but the ducks and geese looked put out that the island they congregate on was mostly submerged
wishing you all a good week – if I manage to post from my tablet then I should be waving to you from a sunny balcony next Monday!

Oh you do look well prepared for that walk outside. The picture behind might have been a forecasting sign (col). Poor ducks & geese. I like those orange billed geese. I do hope that balcony will be somewhere warm for you & cheers to a successful tablet post ;-)
Have a wonderful time! It seems like the perfect time of year for a break in the sun. There has been flooding here, where my Mum is and that always means worries about whether carers can get through. But so far, so good. They are a determined bunch.
Enjoy the rest of your preparations!
Good luck with your holiday preparations and have a great holiday if we don't see you before.
You look well wrapped for the vile weather we had. I hope your holiday is lovely and warm, we've had a distinct lack of warm sunshine this year.
I think your part of the country fared much worse than us weatherwise this weekend. But what a good reason to pack up and head for the sun for a week - have fun!
Sun. Sun... It rings a bell. I'll be interested to see your holiday snaps. Safe travels!
Hope you have a lovely holiday with lots of sunshine and warm days.
Your area has certainly been much harder hit than here. The other end of the village floods most years, but so far there is no sign of it.
It's been wet and windy here too, but not quite the same volume of rain. A very well timed break for a week in the sun. Enjoy.
What a contrast that photo is going to be to your attire this time next week - it'd make a good pair! Hoping you have a perfectly lovely, warm, dry time :). Our rivers and ponds are just lapping the top today ...
Oh! you are so brave! I absolutely hate being out in the rain. As beautiful as your photos are I just can't get past the door at the moment.
