Pair of pyrotechnics
The last event of Edinburgh's festival summer is a big firework concert - a band plays in the park below the castle and there are accompanying fireworks over the castle. The music is transmitted live on the local radio station. As the castle is on top of a hill it is visible from many places around the city and lots of people congregate in them to enjoy the pyrotechnics spectacle - including us.
I do enjoy fireworks and always try for some photos - always a matter of take a lot and hope for a few good ones whilst remembering to enjoy the spectacle too.

Fantastic photos, Helena. I've never been very successful when trying to photograph firework displays but you've got some great capture here.
Aha! Now I get to see them. I heard about how amazing they were..especially when sitting on a friend's overlooking balcony. But there were no pictures taken. I'm so glad you posted these :) (and how clever. Fireworks are hard!)
I have never tried to photograph fireworks. I have heard that it is tricky..so these are great photos!! Love the creative pairing with the style of the fireworks too!! Lots of ooohs and aaahs!!

Great firework pictures. I too love fireworks along as they are no where near the farm!
I love fireworks - I like the trees framing these, gives a sense of being there.
