Last December, when I was thinking about starting this photo theme for 2013, this was one of the pairs that I had thought about.
I love that daffodils appear over most areas of grass in Edinburgh – and they did too in Aberdeen where I grew up. I love the riot of bright yellow as the weather improves. And because Edinburgh is built on the sides of hills, I knew that I would be able to take both an up and a down of the flowers.

It's lovely to see them growing wild on the side of the hill like that - in Australia they are generally confined to manicured garden beds.
Very cool! I'm so loving this meme. It really gets me thinking (and looking).

I love daffodils, too. They rank alongside poppies with me for a happy splash of colour
I love them too, they are planted everywhere where I live but they won't grow naturally in my garden, we are on clay so I have them in pots and I buy them cut every week. They are just so wonderfully sunny! Great pair Helena.
That is a pretty idea, up and down a slope! They must look wonderful en masse.
Hi Helena! I love this meme of looking up and down. I see it across blogland lots:) Love your daffodils, aren't they just so Spring-like and glorious!
Anyway, Looks like I am sending to you on Sian's big swap:) Perhaps you would drop me an email with your address: to pierce(at)tinyworld.co.uk, and maybe a few lines about your preferences and style.
one thing I loved about being back in the UK was that the daffs were so late this year...so I got to see them in banks like this too!

Love how they are growing wild on the little hillside. I haven't seen them like that in years. Ours have all died back now and we're in to tulips now.
