Coffee with a little nutmeg

texture-may-coffee

I’ll freely admit that I care about my coffee but I have been surprised how often I have used this photo that I took in Sydney (Australia) in 2009 – OK I accept it says something that I took the photo in the first place.

Kim Klassen’s Texture Tuesday challenge this week is to apply texture to a coffee or tea cup so I went to this photo again.  I added the nutmeg texture twice – first softlight at 100% and then screen at 36% and then I painted back a few highlights.  To see more textured coffee cups check out Kim’s cafe.

Don’t worry, my next post in not about coffee – but it does relate to this post because its about memory keeping while travelling – hope to see you then.

Love it! The textures are perfect. Need to pull my PSE back up and give it a play.

Beautiful in it's simplicity. I'm new to this world, but will have to try layering the textures as you mentioned. Thanks!

oh my gosh, the perfect cup of coffee! what a great photo, and your work with the textures just made it even better!
i just read your previous post also (beautiful page)...while my daughter was in high school we would get coffee every sunday and head to the beach as well. we'd sit in the back of the van with the door up (it's always raining here) and read for an hour or so...it was perfect. thanks for reminding me!

This is lovely! I love the nutmeg texture--reminds me of the Edgar Allen Poe story-'The Taste of Nutmeg Makes It'

"...then painted in highlights..." - Hmmm, do you also speak English, Helena? I am slooowly getting to grips with PSE and its numerous clever effects. I haven't managed "painting highlights" yet though!

The photo is gorgeous, with the texture effects you have added. It looks kind-of dreamy, a bit old-fashioned and rather enticing (except I hate coffee with milk, but there you go, can't please all the people...). Thank you for explaining what you did (even if I'm not sure I can do it - yet).
