5 in 5 needs a soundtrack
Please imagine crashing waves for this post – they sounded fabulous.
Usually the waves hit the beach I walk alone gently with some white but no great noise. But the combination of wind making the sand steeper and a high tide meant that there have been bigger crashing waves – I couldn’t resist getting out my camera. But with the constant movement and each wave cresting differently it really is a matter of click a lot and hope I got some good ones – which made this a perfect subject for Sandie’s lovely monthly meme of 5 in 5 – take photos for 5 minutes then share the best 5.
This month I put them all together on on big sheet – enjoy

5 in 5 by the beach
I was excited to see the launch of a local 3 day artwalk with installations by the sea and was sure this would provide excellent images for my September 5 in 5. I set off with my camera and the map
but sadly it was underwhelming
I think the pieces were just too small – I think this piece either needed enough of these pots to cover the top or have a piece that is massively bigger. Hopefully they will evolve for next year.
So I was left without a subject for 5 in 5 but the light over the water was interesting and there were only a few people around so I easily captured some good images of a mostly empty non-summer beach then had to choose my favourite 5 -
an empty beach except for 2 boys playing with the tide under looming clouds
a greyhound checking for her person
a woman either enjoying some thinking time with her guitar – or practicing where no one can hear
reflections as the wave gathers
an hypnotic horizon
Thanks to Sandie for her 5 in 5 meme – a lovely monthly prompt to take photos for 5 minutes then choose the best 5 to share.

Come for a walk
Blue skies and sunshine encourage me out for a walk along the promenade by the beach. I know it is still nippy and we need a coat and, perhaps, gloves and a hat, but the feel of sun and fresh air and lovely sights are worth it.
There is enough sun to create a shadow so come and walk with me
enjoy the views
and smile at the antics of all the dogs having a wonderful time playing on the beach
I hope you are getting the opportunity for some energising walks this week

oh I do like to be beside the seaside
that nice soft effect on these photos – its natural, not pixel magic – its fog! And yes there were still people enjoying the beach, because the temperature was in low 20s C. We’ve had lots of days recently that start with heavy fog over the water – but then it goes to reveal
all the photographic wonders of stripes of sand and water and sky. There were actually quite a few people on the beach when I took these – I just chose the empty bits to photograph. I’m addicted to capturing the horizon where water meets sky and all the stripes of colour. Shame the sun doesn’t rise or set in that direction.
do you have a photo addiction?
