me on Monday in December

you find me reminiscing about Christmas when the sky if bright blue and there is plenty of good light - as we approach the shortest day of the year when daylight is overcast I sought out photos of New Zealand Christmas where the daylight is longer and brighter at this time of year:

The tree is a pohutukawa and is covered in red November/December and is known as the Christmas tree in NZ and features on lots of Christmas cards.  The giant bauble was in the main square in town and provided lots of lovely reflections. The giant Santa winks - it has been displayed on that corner of the main street in Auckland for decades.

Waving to you all and hoping your build up to Christmas day is fun and stress free.

Those are great holiday snaps.

I don't blame you for looking for some sunshine! My daughter keeps reminiscing about her trip last year. She had photos of that Santa. We have been thinking about my Auntie who will be 70 in a few hours time in Hamilton.

Lovely photos to go with your special memories. We have rain & dreary weather here also - not very "dreaming of a white Christmas" time, but no matter, Christmas comes in so many different packages. See you Wednesday.

Hope the weather isn't too dreary where you are. With a little luck it might be white and make up for not being as beautiful as NZ looks!
Have a lovely Christmas.

How lovely to see sunshine! Thanks for posting so I can remember sunny days. The tree is pretty - it must be very different spending Christmas in the warm. Have a wonderful week.

It's lovely to see something a little different. I wonder every year what it would be like to spend Christmas away from the rain here.

Enjoy the tun up to Christmas Helena and thanks for Monday-ing all year x

I have friends busy preparing to return to NZ, the sunshine is something they're looking forward to seeing.

That bauble looks so fun with the green snowflakes.

I have friends who live in Australia and NZ and always find it strange to see their Christmas photos. That said, we have experienced some really mild weather and a local garden is filled with Spring flowers. Very unseasonal but nice to see, esepcially when accompanied by a blue sky!
