me on Monday in October

a big wave to Sian (and her victorious boys in green) and all you lovely blog readers – on a sunny autumnal day – lovely blue skies but I know I’ll need a jacket when I go outside.

Yes it was a weekend of fabulous rugby – all set for 4 interesting northern vs southern hemisphere games in the quarter finals.

And yes there was more crochet with good progress on my big project.  I was also enticed by a fun Halloween amigurumi and made a start

11-oct-15-(12)

I’m claiming the slight blur as Halloween atmosphere!

There was also reading as I finished The Martian (Andy Weir) in 3 days – a real page turner and excellent story of survival.  Then there was a visit to several local charity shops to find some new books for my shelves – a good haul.

And there was some unpacking of warmer clothes and packing away of cooler clothes – some of which only saw the inside of my wardrobe this ‘summer’.

Wishing you all have a great week

I think you must have very nimble fingers to knit such little letters - were they harder to knit than say socks? Looking forward to seeing the finished product. Does Scotland do a lot of Halloween decorating? I have The Martian on order at the library, think I'd like to read before seeing the movie. Helena, I do hope you have a marvelous week ahead & I'll see you on Wednesday :)

That's a cool piece of crochet!

Ha ha I have a wardrobe full of 'summer things' that never saw the light of day this year. I love your crochet, the colour is amazing.

The crochet? It's brilliant!

The rugby? We're going all the way! :)

The Martian? Parts of it were filmed round here, but I think it was inside scenes and not bits which look like outer space. It sounds like a real nail biter of a movie.

Have a great week Helena

I like the crochet. Could I be one of the only people not watching the rugby. I do ask my daughter from time to time how it is going!

Love the crochet ... I wish you lived nearer, and then maybe you could teach me how to crochet properly ... or even not properly, I'm not fussy. Just struggling to get the hang of it!

I'm not watching the rugby either, so Maggie isn't the only one!

I'm thinking of going to see The Martian later this week. Like you, I've put my summer clothes away, I think Autumn is here to stay!

I tend to layer so other than a couple of dresses, my wardrobe consists of the same items year round. I just wear more of them at this time of year. Your crochet project looks very cute. One day I'll master that hook! Have a great week.

Your Boo made me smile! And that's the third reference to The Martian I've come across this evening - I'm going to have to get a copy, clearly.

A happy boo back at you and I'll be using that line about atmosphere in blurry photos, you can count on it. We just saw The Martian movie this weekend and enjoyed it; although it is not the kind of book I would have chosen to pick up and read.

Fab crochet. I am with you on the summer clothes - I have had to fetch some winter clothes from the loft, weeks earlier than I normally would.

Your little crochet things always amaze me - how tiny some of them are. All our summer weight stuff has been put away till January. This morning we're actually in the minuses! Ack! Way to early for that. Don't think the backyard contractors are going to be liking that.

I have picked up my crochet again to learn a new stitch but I have a long way to go before I get anywhere near as good as you Helena. These are fun!
