Me on Monday

back home in front of my computer and enjoying my photos from a weekend away to the Bristol area and meeting blog friends in real life – not as scary as non blogging friends seem to perceive meeting people you ‘met on the internet’.

After all we already know bits and pieces like pets and offspring and recent happening and who else can you share thoughts like ‘perhaps Rinda will want us to take a photo of a big bunch of balloons this year’ or ‘are weathervanes sufficiently trans Atlantic for the scavenger hunt’ or ‘remember how hard the unicycle was, and an angel and the sunrise’.

But lovely to now be able to add the timbre of the the voice and the laugh and smile when reading posts from Miriam, Maggie and Barbara.

We had fun with our cameras and couldn’t resist the reflective properties of a large shiny dome

and then Miriam’s son kindly came to take a group shot of us all (and a lovely bronze 17 year old poet)

as you can see we were blessed with a sunny day.  More photos from our wander with cameras later in the week!

Waving to you all and celebrating meeting blog friends in real life and hoping for more of it.

Waving to you on the right day! What a great shot in the dome. I wonder what he is reciting to me?

What a great day we had! Lovely to meet you all. I agree it is odd to see yourself on another blog.

It was lovely to meet you on Saturday, your shot in the dome is really good - mine managed to cut someone in half every time.

Oh, what a wonderful get-together that must have been! So nice to see all of you, if only in photos. I wish I could have joined you.

What fun! I had a similar opportunity last week. When I was telling a church friend about the upcoming visit, I said I thought Melissa knew more about me by reading my blog for several years, than my friend who I see once or twice a week. We don't share many personal stories during our times at church.

Just splendid to see you all together like this! Some very creative photography to boot, and I enjoyed your comment about having friends with whom one can discuss Rinda's scavenger hunt :). That's a long, long way to Bristol, but some journeys really are worth making, aren't they.

What a lovely visit! It is so good to meet up with online friends and there is lots of common ground. It looks like you all had a good time and I love the reflection photo of you all in the big sphere. Hope you enjoyed your visit to Bristol, there is so much to do and see there, I am overdue a visit! Look forward to seeing more of your photos soon.

What a lovely group of blogging friends - agreeing that meeting up with on-line friends isn't as scary as some people seem to think.
