Summer of colour–minty rockpools

for our second week of colour inspiration Kristin gave us a cool mix of blue-greens and dark brown from mint chocolate chip.

summer-of-colour-2

Interesting how much blue there is in the mint ice-cream colour.

I used rockpools as my summer inspiration to create my piece this week, which features the 2nd letter of ‘create’. [I described my overall project goals  here]

I’m enjoying having two pieces to work on, using different techniques, the background and the letter.  Also enjoying pure digi creation with no photo as a starting point.

Check out all the wonderful creations on Twinkle, Twinkle – last week there were over 100 pieces linked in a wide range of media.

Stunning contrast..... I liked seeing your palette colours. I hadn't realised how much blue there was in the minty colour. Interesting!

Wow I am so impressed!! I love what you did last year too! A great theme ending with something functional!!
Really good ideas!! I love your letter! Just fabulous....I had to keep staring at it. At first I thought maybe you weaved it, so intricate, then I realized it was digital. But you can't tell....love it!!

I also noted how much blue was in the mint colored ice cream that Kristin showed. I'm glad you also pointed it out. I'm so impressed with digital. I have only played with digital once and probably wouldn't remember how I did it, anyway. Yours is always so realistic!

this is amazing! I also love how you put all the colors in that grid. For next week's prompt, I'm first going to have a look here so I'll know exactly what colors to use ;-)

Such beautiful textures and such a great theme you are using. I too was also amazed at how much blue I had to add to get the mint green colour.
