2 wonderful horse heads (kelpies are water horses from traditional stories) that are an engineering marvel as well as a splendid, imposing public sculpture. The park is not completed yet, with the visitor centre and cafe still to be built and some planting and path making still in progress. But there were lots of people there eager to see the new kelpies (it was a public holiday) despite frequent showers
and couldn't resist the chance to feed the kelpies !

They're just huge! How magnificent they are, rising out of the landscape like this ... A real emblem of Scottish strength and endurance. Glad you had a lovely birthday outing.

Love the feeding the kelpies. I've never been able to make that type of photograph work well. And the statues are magnificent!

I love sculptures Helena and these are amazing! I didn't know that kelpies are sea horses, so I learnt something today. How exciting to have the park to look forward to, rain or shine it looks wonderful.
