Look Up Look Down at festive decor

I’m slowly decorating my house, taking a few bits out of the boxes each day and finding them a home.  Decorating in early December still feels a bit strange as always followed the 12 days of Christmas tradition when we were growing up which meant we decorated on the 24th and took it all down on the 6th.

Looking up at some of the eclectic mix I’ve places on top of my display unit

and looking down at my reminder of Christmas in New Zealand – plastic pohutukawa – a native tree that is covered in fabulous red flowers in December

Just posted something very similar for my look up//look down this week.
I can't believe there's only two more weeks left, and I've kept up the whole year.
Are you starting to think up a new meme for next year?

We've always been late decorators as Mum used to want to wait until after she'd finished work (teacher) before changing into the Christmas headspace ... it seems to have stuck - no decs up here yet!

Wonderful decorations! And I love your idea of taking out a few bits and pieces each day.

Great set of photos! We always decorate the day after Thanksgiving & un-decorate the day after New Year's. This year we actually put up a few decorations before Thanksgiving because of our schedules & Thanksgiving being so late - sometime it's fun to change it up a little bit.

I'm a late in Christmas week decorator. I like the tree up and decorated on Christmas eve, Carols and mulled wine are just perfect then. I like your idea of a few things out each day though. Apart from the festive swap this year I'm definitely 'Keep Christmas in December' kind of person.

Usually we're all decorated by now but I haven't even started aside from having some boxes sitting waiting in the family room. Cards haven't been done either. I seem to be having an off year for getting ready for Christmas. Once our decorations are up they stay up till Epiphany.

Lovely festive feel to these! We always decorate close to Christmas, though we sometimes put up some little lights in advance!
