For Photo Art Friday this week Bonnie proposed that we all look through our archives and post a piece from the past that deserved another showing.
I thought it would be fun to show my first use of a texture and blending modes – the texture was from ShadowHouse Creations. I created it as part of creativity bootcamp in response to the prompt ‘hush’. I still really like it and haven’t lost the interest in applying textures.
I also came across this image which for some reason I have never posted. I know it has a linen or canvas texture applied but don’t know which one.
Do you have the 1st instance of using a technique that you now use all the time?

Very nice work! Such beautiful color on the flower!
I am loving your images especially the flower! So glad to have stopped by.
Blessings Suzanne
That's a really good question! I think I'd have to go for something basic - like sharpening in PSE. First time I did that i could definitely see a difference!
I love that second image. Looks like a painting which should hang on a wall.
great colors and textures - and I like the nature quote
Two very different images but both very beauiful . . . lovely work, Teresa x
Both beautiful in their own individual way.
Wow, Helena - wish I had identified the first photo to which I applied a texture. You've set me to wondering if I could find it in my files.
You did a fabulous job for your first edit - whenever that was - love the soft painterly feel of the water image too. Thank you for sharing with Photo Art Friday!
wow - i can´t believe that was your first trial of textures with the poppy!! gorgeous!
These are fabulous Helena, I particularly like the second one. I'm going to look for my first texture picture and see if I still like it. Thanks :)
I really like the second image - that little boat out on the blue water and under the blue sky! Lovely treatment on both.
Both photos are very beautiful, Helena, and I like especially the second one. It shows a mood/atmosphere that I feel very attracted to.
Yes, I still have those first tries with textures, I definitely have learned a lot since then and still have tons more to learn. But it is so much fun!
Wonderful photos, the one with the water, is definitely a favorite for me. Beautiful and peaceful.
Such different looks and both are eye catching. The top image has the flamboyance of color and the lower image has a subtle peacefulness.
each is lovely in its own way -- i love vibrant red poppies; and, the calming of the water scene. thank you. kareninkenai (PAF)
