pairs with a view

one of the places I visited when I was in London was the Shard which has the highest viewing platform in London - on the 69th floor.  It is high - we saw helicopters below us and a spitfire flyover at eye-level.  It was a clear day with amazing views out across the city - I would love to go back at night to see all the lights of the city.

Looking froward to all the sites you are sharing this week - but I won't be round to visit any until late Thursday - I'll be busy picking produce.

I think it will look spectacular at night. The Shard is on my to do list but I never seem to have the time when I go to London - need to get more organised!

A great pair of photos.

Lucky you. I too would like to visit this. Good chance for your panoramic view. We went up the Empire State Building just after dark and the lights certainly were spectacular.

WOW what a view from the platform. Great shot looking up, gives me the reality view of how tall the Shard is. The night lights would certainly dazzle although I am not sure I could be tempted in either daylight or nightlight to open my eyes from that height!

Lovely! This was on my 40 Before 40 list - one of the first things I ever blogged about! We went up at twilight. It was super busy but the sunset was spectacular and seeing London illuminated under the inky night was actually rather moving. Nice to see the day view - clearer than I had anticipated. Pleased you had good weather for it!

Gorgeous view - you were so lucky with the day. It is on my list to do this summer when we have some time off. If only to get the panoramic view for the summer scavenger hunt :)
