Pair of pairs

while visiting my sister last week I took an early morning stroll  to see the inhabitants of her neighbour's field

the donkeys were grazing what they could reach without getting up while the chickens were busy looking for food - and the other inhabitants were still sleeping (a pair of pigs and a pony).

From a photography and pairs perspective I was particularly pleased that both pairs were together.

Anticipating more delightful pairs from you all.

I love donkeys. They alway look so serene. I can't persuade Brian to let me have one!

A great pairing. There is something about the back view of chickens that makes me laugh!

How fun to have the two pairs together - I do approve of things being organised like that :)

Agreeing with Eileen for some reason a chicken's back view always make me smile too.

Lovely setting and too funny that the donkeys eat only as far as they can reach while laying down. I like donkeys. Chickens, too many memories of getting pecked while getting their eggs (lol).

Sweet, sweet donkeys, and that's a heck of a feeding technique! I must set up an armchair near the fridge... :o)

Love that you came up with three descriptions for these cute pairs!

I always love hens and chickens - but your donkeys are making me smile too, with their grazing habit. Our sheep up here have taken to kneeling on their front leg joints so their heads are closer to the grass.
