Summer of colour shimmers

Sadly the penultimate week of summer of colour for this year and Kristen gave us a bold pair of primaries with a hint of light

summer-of-colour-w5

as my photo starting point this week I used a fabulous pattern that I has spotted on the surface of the river as the sun shimmered off the current when the incoming tide meets the flow of the river

7-july-(3)

and played with pixel magic until I had these two images that I love

sc5-2Untitled-3

I will be returning to these patterns for some more play with other colours

and I had the appropriate wools in my stash so came up with this charity blanket square – showing both sides as the pattern looks different front and back

sc-5-1

I know there will be plenty of lovely interpretations of these colours in more mediums than I can imagine – check them out here

Wow those are great images - so vibrant! Your blanket squares turned out great too. Now I have noticed that so far you have yet to be stumped for a colour - I'm guessing your stash of yarn looks a little bit like my stash of paper... :)

Pixel Magic is magic. I can't even get PS to do anything that gorgeous. You did a fantastic job.

And of course, I adore that charity blanket square. What a colorful SOC way to show a bit of kindness.

I live near a lake, too. I have never seen the sun shine look so beautiful on the water as what you have done with your magic. Really lovely!

I like to meet new people . Mine you I cannot do squares for the life of me.

Helena, you make me want to get back into digital photography again! I used to manipulate photos and have fun experimenting. Perhaps I'll have more time now I am not working full time. I LOVE the beautiful effect of the surface of the water and what you did with it, and am admiring of your crochet squares. Such a clever way of linking the two.
