Counting the Joys of June

I must admit to enjoying Julie’s version of the end of month accounting more than I do my other (financial) month end number record – not because I’m having financial woes but because there aren’t any pictures or nice fonts or colour (although I should be glad there is no red there!)
So here is my summary for June
and in case you have never seen a group of over a hundred swans – this is what it looks like
all of the non breeding swans gather together in food rich areas at this time of year as they shed their old feathers and cannot fly.  The mouth go my local river is one of those gathering places.  During the rest of the year we have about 20 swans on the river.

And here are my crochet trials – the 2 squares are from a book of afghan squares on a site with free crochet e-books that Alexa kindly told me about.

That's a lot of tomato tickling! I think I might need some intruction, though we are too far behind to even have any flowers yet. Wonderful photo and info about the swans ... and I love your little circle crochet especially with those pretty colours.

A great title for your post pulled me in to see what you had been up to.

You are quite a dab hand with a crochet hook!

I like the way you count your numbers, conversation with numbers. The swans look wonderful and I didn't know that about feather shedding/can't fly.
My goodness your crochet is gorgeous especially the yellow circle. I like the photo of you on your header.

I bet that swan gathering must be a noisy - albeit charming - spectacle!

I forgot all bout the pollinating bit ... I think we did it last year ... note: must go find a paintbrush ...

All in - it sounds like a wonderful start to the summer for you!

I've added you to the board now Helena:

Happy July!

Julie :-)

p.s: The questions for the 1st 'Communal Count' are up on my blog today if you want to join in with that this month.

You certainly were busy this month, you're doing very well with the scavenger hunt. Pollinating that many tomato flowers seems like a lot of work, we don't need to do that, I guess it must be a different variety?

Well that definitely beats our 2 swans. :) I like the new header, it makes me think I should do something.
