snap frost

we've had some hard frosts over the last week and areas not in direct sunlight stayed frosted all day to then receive a second layer of frost the next night - cold but also resulting in some beautiful detail with frost edged petals and leaves and visible ice crystals - I had to go out with my camera to collect some for a snap set

Only 4 more Wednesdays this year - so only 4 more snap sets.  Hard to believe we have completed almost a year and I'm so pleased that many of you have joined me each week. And many of you also joined me for pairs the year before and even zoom in, zoom out the year before that.

I wont be hosting another theme next year - because I'm taking a trip to NZ early in the year and know that I will not be able to maintain the weekly posting and visiting that I feel is part of hosting a meme.  I'm hoping one of you has an idea for a weekly meme and will launch it upon us -  I do like to have a photographic project to think about each week.

Looking forward to seeing what you have captured this week

Lovely and you will see its Snap Snap shortly. I am delighted to hear you have a trip to New Zealand planned and look forward to the pictures ( will you be there when we will?) but devastated at the thought of no Helena meme. Thank you for being such a wonderful hostess.

Thank you for hosting all your lovely photo memes. It won't be the same without one next year. Maybe we could do an A to Z one if no one comes up with a better suggestion?

What a beautiful & imaginative SNAP collection. I think this collage or any individual photo would make such a beautiful Christmas card. Oh I want to do the same, but so far our weather has been rather mild!

A separate comment about changes to SNAP. Helena thank you SO very much for hosting this meme for the last several years. I have truly enjoyed being part of the group & I agree it is nice to have a photographic assignment each week - it certainly has me looking around at my world in much greater attention & detail. I am sure you are going to be sharing lots of wonderful photos from your NZ trip.

Well now to make sure the next 4 SNAP collections are truly worthy.

Thank you again.

Oh those certainly bring home the fact that winter has arrived. Now I need a blanket.

Gorgeous photos of the frosty...it must be colder there than in Winnipeg since our hoarfrosts have disappeared each day!
Re SNAP next year...my creativity level is at an all-time low so I can offer no suggestions!

Oh my those are cold . . . uhm, I mean beautiful ... looking snaps! Brrrrrrr

I haven't joined in as often as I'd hoped this year, but I have enjoyed it so much and appreciate your hosting these memes the past few years! I've also so enjoyed seeing other people's posts from around the world.

Hope you have a fabulous vacation in 2017!!!

Your frost collection is truly lovely! I will miss our weekly photography meme as well. It's been so much fun the last several years, but like you, I have quite a bit of travel scheduled for next year, so don't think it would be in anyone's interest to take it on. Hopefully, someone will feel inspired! Thanks so much for your wonderful hosting!

Wow, these are so crisp - love that top left. We've all benefitted from your lovely memes each week so thank you. And a trip to the far side of the world sounds fabulous!

The frost makes everything look so pretty. Beautiful set of images. It really is "Snap!" this week. My set has the same theme as yours. I have a feeling it won't be the only one.

How lovely. It sounds and looks very chilly with you at the moment! I'm looking forward to hearing about your trip and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that another photographer steps in because I really enjoy seeing what everyone comes up with every week.

Uh! I took a bunch of frosty photos this week too. Forgot about posting and now I'm glad as yours are better (both the frost and the photos!). Maybe next week. It has been fun and I will make an effort to join in more to the end of the year while I still can. I echo others' thanks for all your ideas and the work put in to host. The only idea that spontaneously came to me for a new theme was "inside out" - views of something from the inside and the outside. Could be a building, a window, a tree, even a household item... Not sure how interesting that is or if it would last a whole year but someone might have a better idea or a way of developing that one. No offence taken either way!
