me on Monday

a big wave to everyone on a very soggy Monday – looking out the window at the rain and having seen the weather forecast’s rain cloud sitting overhead all day, I’m glad I bought new wellies at the weekend – there may be a bit of testing in some puddles later today!

It was a weekend of sorting buttons (by size, kind of)

13-sep-15-(1)

brought on by finding a third box of buttons while tidying my craft table so that I had some space to work – sorting coloured buttons (and then ribbon) was a satisfying job for a grey day.  I also discovered a needlecase full of needles and two packets of them so even if I lose one a month I’m set for several years.

It was a weekend of welcoming my cousin’s daughter to Edinburgh – she is starting University here – and looking forward to four years of having her around – and reminiscing about my student days as she is in the student halls building next to the one I was in.

It was a weekend of studying the pools for the rugby world cup which starts on Friday and anticipating plenty of good rugby watching, and hoping that the commentators (based in London) remember that many of us are not backing England to win – for instance those living in Ireland, Scotland and Wales – I’m not holding my breath on that one as 3 of the main comment team are former England players and coach.

Hoping you all have a good week.

Isn't it soggy? And my girl is still trudging round the Brecons! Nice to have a relative staring at the Uni!

All the very best to your student! It certainly takes you back, doesn't it? That moving in day especially.

Yes! to lots of rugby anticipation here too. I think it's going to be a good week :)

What a nice "Auntie" of sorts you are having your cousin (once removed I think) stay with you while she's at University. WoW that's a lot of buttons. Do you cut off buttons to save when getting rid of old clothes? Hope you have a great week and much success with your pools

Why do we find it so easy to sort and fiddle with our stash but not to actually use it? (or is that just me?). Have a lovely week and hope it isn't too wet.

I love buttons! I remember sorting through my nan's button box when I was small, now I have her collection and sometimes my grand daughters like to look through mine.
Today has been out first soggy day and hoping with fingers and toes crossed that it brightens up, I have plans and don't want them spoilt by wet weather! Have a good week and look forward to hearing more next Monday.

I've been sorting out a few buttons and some ribbons as well lately. It is very satisfying when you are done, isn't it!!

Oh you can come and sort my buttons anyway, I was given several tins of buttons when my Aunt moved house!

Oh that reminds me so much of my mother's button collection - I wonder what happened to it.
