Autumn

I know that some blogfriends love this season.  Sian recently blogged her love of autumn and I read her list with interest. I try to share the love vicariously but really it is not my favourite season, indeed its a contender for my least liked season.

Orange and browns are colours I love in other contexts but not enough to make this season sing for me

autumn

In a pollyanna mood I turned to a cinquain poetry form I use in workshops to express my thoughts on the season

Autumn

dank, gloomy

wrapping up, making soup

I want to hibernate

Autumn

How about you – is this your season of joy or hibernation?

I am intrigued by your poetic form and enjoyed it very much - our autumn has been of the grey sullen type this year with little sunshine. Though I do love the lemony leaves against the dark water- sodden bark!

Going all psychological..I'm wondering if my love of autumn has something to do with my parents being teachers: to me, it is a time of new beginnings, much more than the New Year. My birthday is in the summer, so it isn't that. It's an interesting one! I like your riposte very much.

You know, I never would have considered autumn to be a favorite, but I think the reason I like it so much is because it's a reprieve from the scorching summer heat we have here in Arizona. Otherwise, spring is my favorite. :o)

Love the poem!

I love autumn, the colours, the scents, winter clothes, boots hats scarves and like Sian, I always feel it is full of new beginnings and I have no idea why! I love your poem too.

Interesting post. Autumn is not my favourite but it also isn't the one I like the least or should I say detest (winter). My favourite is spring.
