recognise your age

today’s prompt in creativity bootcamp was ‘grow’ and the journaling prompt started by thinking of music from your youth.  My thinking about the concept of ‘grow’ went along the path of  ‘growing up’ and soon merged with music from my early teens which by then I was signing.

This is what I made

DAY 4 IMAGE GROW

for those of you who remember the song

and for those of you who were not watching Top of the Pops on the BBC every Thursday evening in 1974

here is the song in all its seventies glamrock splendour – good memories.

Thanks for the nice comments. Some days I feel older than on other days.

I like your thinking. I was watching TOTP every Thursday, so why don't I remember that one? I listen to the music of my youth all the time err... that'll be Radio 2 then lol!

Funnily enough, although I shouldn't remember the Sweet, I do because my sister who is a lot older brought me up knowing all of these. Personally, I preferred "Ballroom Blitz" by them and generally there were some fantastic songs that came from that era - I still listen to a whole bunch of them, Roxy Music, Velvet Underground, Bowie, TRex, Abba..... the list goes on and the genra's all bringing up a whole lot of emotions and memories - love it

I don't remember that one, though I do recognise/remember Sweet! Those costumes and haircuts are rather unforgetable...
My sister was more into Top of the Pops at that point than I was. Our mother was very old-fashioned and didn't approve... so she mostly watched it at her friend Kim's house!
Eventually our mum gave in... I remember Queen with Bohemian Rhapsody and The Bay City Rollers, Mud, Suzi Quattro, Blondie and Adam Ant (a bit later, those two though).
Thanks for the reminder... great fun!

Nice take on Grow and this song certainly rings some bells! It's just bought back another song too - "Teenage Kicks"!

I used to go to Guides on a Thursday evening and missed it every week! Wasn't very cool.
