As well as enjoying the water in Spain we had several trips to local historic sites / sights
Top left is from the medieval old town in Pals - the top of the hill is covered in winding streets and lovely old buildings, many of which have rooms dug into the side of the hill
The two top right are at Ruins de Empuries - a fabulous site that is still being excavated - we visited over 20 years ago and really noticed how much more has been uncovered since then. The site includes a Greek (top) and Roman (bottom) city that was inhabited for 1500 years starting 200BC. There was an excellent audio guide which had the right balance of archeology and what life would have been like
Bottom is the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona - building on the front part started in 1882 and completion of the rest is anticipated in the next decade
I really enjoyed looking at the different architecture and imagining what it would be like to live in these different cities at those times
Lovely to see all your snap sets every week

Both sound fascinating - I like old ruins and architecture so would have enjoyed the visit. I have friends who have visited the Sagrada Familia at regular intervals and plan to continue until it is complete.
Very interesting photos giving us a flavour of your holiday.
Great snapshots. We've just had our fair share of visiting ancient cathedrals in France - perhaps I need a SNAP post of my own.
These are gorgeous! I like old ruins too, Paul always says I should have been born in another age! Anyway these pictures are lovely and its so nice to have a decent audio, one that can fire your imagination, rather than just lots of facts
That last image is instantly recognisable as Barcelona, isn't it? Lovely set this week.
Such a SNAP collection of history. Started building in 1882 & not done yet! I think this church was shown on a travel show we watched last week. Interesting ruins all round.
Visiting Spain is high on our travel bucket list, so I'm loving these photos and posts!
cool to have both Greek and Roman ruins at the same place!
I love those ruins. I'd love to see those.
Your lovely photos suggest that living there at any time in the past might have been wonderful ... There's something about ancient stone and blue skies that is very attractive!
