Have you been watching the Winter Olympics?
I happened upon skateboard slopestyle and was amazed at both the acrobatic skill of the athletes and also the amazing language of the commentary with so many terms that meant nothing to me but sounded great
so I started to write down phrases that they use a lot – bosh was common to describe a good landing. And I had to laugh at the ‘push of shame’ when a rider falls and then has to unclip one foot from the board to push himself off the snow.
I took the photo of the TV as they kindly show slowmotion of the run.
Thinking I might repeat this for some other events during the games to capture the full experience.
Which event do you most look forward to watching? or are you turned off by the whole thing?

Great post! I'm actually listening to women's slopestyle as I type this. (Go, Canada!) It feels like they're speaking a foreign language, doesn't it?
We are watching, but as you could imagine, we have NO idea! Winter Olympic Games events are not common here - though,it is highly entertaining to watch.
Watching intermittently here. Moguls! now that was a challenge for me. Loved the Australian win in the speed skating. I did see it on the iPlayer so it could have been a previous year... The best one so far for me was the commentator on the 'fling yourself down an icy hill at crazy speeds on a tea tray' ''the ice is getting faster now, the temperatures are much lower now and then! everyones has the same ice!!!!!"
legwrap :)
We've loved the slopestyle and the moguls ~ completely bonkers!!
It is exciting isn't it? Except Curling. A cross between bowls and housework!
Your image made me smile. I was struggling too with the language but also with their overexcited and hyped up delivery - bless. Ice skating is the one for me ...
I watched quite a bit of this, but was working on projects at the same time, and obviously did not pay attention like you did!
