ice-cream colours–rainbow sherbert

For Summer of Colour this year, Kristin is using ice-cream for the colour palette inspiration.  Our first was a lovely vibrant rainbow sherbert.  As my first step to digital creation I made a colour palette from the image

Over the six prompts I’m going to create pieces to spell create – I started with C.  The idea that I had in mind for inspiration on this one was a picnic in the sun.

I made this during the week but kept thinking something was not quite right and yesterday I realised that the background was too flat so I added the ‘creases’ that you see here and then it felt like mine !!

Looking forward to seeing what others have created in a wide range of media – people can post a link all week.

  1. What a great idea to make the word over six weeks. I love the background you made and thought you had sewn it! It's wonderful and summery. I look forward to the next letter!

  2. I agree about the great idea to do a word spelt out over the event, I guess that is what Kristin is doing too with her "S" I guess Summer?? Glad you like my butterflies as I have just thought I'd do a butterfly on each ATC I make over the 6 weeks. BJ

  4. I think it adds a little bit of extra fun to make something each week that will add onto the other weeks creations. Like Twinkles banner, and your quilt.
My ice creams are being built up to something as well.

  8. I thought it looked like a sewn quilt as well. Will look forward to seeing each week's creation and how everything looks put together in the final week when you have the word "create" done.

  18. I never would have known this was digital if you hadn't said! So, so clever and slightly boggles my brain (am so NOT techy!) Love the idea of creating... Create over the 6 weeks :)

  19. That worked out beautifully!
I guess I misread what you were going to do. I didn't realize you were also creating the letters again.
    Love the quilt!

I actually thought I'd participate and even took a photo but then I confused two challenges. I may still join in next week.
So glad you visited me last week so I can follow this challenge at least. :)

  25. Can't believe this is digital! It looks so real. And you make it sound so easy "so I added the creases".... I wouldn't have a clue how to do that... Great work!
