Earlier this week I gathered some poppy heads from my garden to bring inside in a vase - I love the soft colours and the flower shape on the top. I shook out all the seeds into appropriate corners of my garden first so that I can have more lovely read petals then seed heads next year.
Later that day when out walking I noticed a teasel growing and thought it would make a good pair - 2 seed heads with very different shapes
looking forward to all your pairs this week
They are both beautiful in as you say quite different ways. The birds love those teasels too.
ReplyDeleteOh yes lovely close up photos. Neat Pair. I particularly like the poppy seed heads. At a lot of the Christmas bazaars there will be many crafts/decorations made with the teasel heads, usually sprayed gold. I think maybe next year (oh the gardener's cry) I will let my poppy seed heads dry out - I am too quick with the snippers.
ReplyDeleteI love these...and great that you got 3 pairs from them...
ReplyDeleteI had collected some poppy seed heads too but eventually they went mouldy so I had to toss them..need to find some fresh but better dried ones!
It's such a striking difference that it really made me think about how they would each feel in my hand. That's good photography.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos - lovely comparison.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely textural pair ... I've enjoyed thinking about the similarities of shape and differences in colour and feel to the touch.
ReplyDeleteWhat a contrast! I've never seen poppy heads that look like that. I'll have to pay more attention next year.
