summer of colour week 1

summer-of-colour-w1

Kristin provided us with a lovely palette for week 1 that is based on the primary colours trio but takes a summery version of each.

When I first saw them an image of Andy Warhol portraits came to mind that didn’t budge so I went with some pixel magic colour blocked landscape

soc1-1

and the colour combo was still in my head when I chose the wools for a charity blanket square

I’ll try to keep up this second aspect as long as I have the wool colours.

Loving the variety of artistic mediums people use in summer of colour, you can check them out on on Twinkle, Twinkle

  1. The landscape looks cool in those colors...can't help a smile when you said the colors were in your head while choosing the wool coz these days I am also thinking in those colors to see what suits more! And yes, the variety in SOC baffles me!
Thanks for dropping by Helena :)

  3. Fantastic! both the landscape and the knitting or crochet? The prompt for todays ICAD is magenta, I am happily cutting out small circles of magenta fabric!

  6. Love the piece you did, and that tiny bit of pink makes it perfect. Such a great idea to make some squares for a blanket in the same colours :-)

  10. I love the landscape, especially since I was recently inspired by Andy Warhol, too. The crochet square is very clever with the stripe of pink--a real pop of color without being overpowering.
