Zoom in on the breeze

I'm fascinated with ways of photographing the weather - probably prompted by rainy holidays and thinking of ways to make the most of what was there.  It has been sunny around here recently but also very windy - as you can see in the zoomed in shot with the horizontal ribbons on the handlebars blowing in the wind

anticipating some signs of Easter in this weeks zoom in and out pairs.

  1. It does indeed look very blustery! I must go catch up on my ZIZOs.

  2. I really like how the zoomed in shot tells us more.

Yes, we've been hearing about that Scottish wind!

  3. I usually hate wind...except when it blows up great waves in the ocean/lake...way more fun to play in(well, when I was 10 years old anyways!).

  4. I didn't notice the ribbons until you pointed them out, I was too busy admiring the sand!

  5. The wind is nice, but I really love the composition in the zoom out shot. Nice juxtaposition which makes me wonder where the owner of the scooter has gotten off to.

  8. Given that I am just about to head for the airport for a weekend in Glasgow, these do not fill me with glee!

  9. This pairing shows the power of the zoom as the first shot looks perfectly sunny and fine ... the zoom in reveals that winter isn't quite gone yet.
We have a chilly wind here too - apparently it's a Blackthorn Winter still?!?!

  10. We had a big wind storm here this week, 60 to 70 mile per hour winds blowing over tractor trailers and trees!

    Lovely shots...

  11. I live in a quite windy place. I usually capture it by the goats' beards blowing. :-)

  12. I never thought about the wind blowing so much on the beach until I got to New Zealand, but now I always take a jacket or jumper! Love your scooter shots.
